Built by British Rail, these Bogie Ballast Hoppers were someof the largest wagons in the engineer’s fleet. Like most engineer’s wagons,these ballast hoppers received aquatic names and were usually known as Seacowsor Sealions, depending on their braking arrangement. Used to carry ballast towork sites where it would be discharged via the chutes at the bottom of thehopper, these Graham Farish models capture every intricate detail of theprototype from the hopper doors to the six separately fitted handwheels thatcontrolled their operation. Added at each end are several separate handrails,along with etched platforms whilst underframe steps and other adornments arealso included. Finished in the bold blue colour scheme of Mainline, this wagonwill make a fine addition to any post-Privatisation scene. MODEL FEATURES:
